Description: “Mago” is an East Asian term for the Great Goddess and “Magoism,” in a narrow sense, refers to the mytho-historic-cultural matrix of East Asia that venerates the Great Goddess. In a broad sense, it indicates the gynocentric cultural matrix of the Great Goddess. We explore the universal and specific nature of Magoism. It is a required course for Magoist Studies Certificate Programs.

Objectives: Both instructor and participants are encouraged to have an embodied understanding of the following:

  • Co-relation between trans-patriarchal feminism and Magoism
  • Undoing the persepective of nationalism, ethnocentrism, and colonialism
  • Universality and specificity of the Mago talk
  • Basic notions of the Great Goddess in HER text of Magoism and how to awaken in HER
  • Relation between the Great Goddess talk and the consciousness of WE
  • Power of polysemic gynocentric (pre-patriarchal) terms of Magoism and Old Korea
  • Implications of the Great Goddess talk in distinction from the Goddess talk
  • Key notions of Magoism and mytho-history of Old Korea including Mago, Magoism, the Mago Triad, Nine Magos, Mago Stronghold, magocratic Old Korean confederacies, Goddess Goma, Budo Joseon, Little Budo Silla, Sinseons (Magoist Adepts), Mudangs (Korean Shamans), Budoji, and Hwangdan Gogi

Magoist Studies Certificate Programs

Why Magoist Studies? Because it provides one with the perspective of the Whole, Being Here and Now for all, that has begun from the Great Goddess and guides us through our cosmic and personal time/space. Magoist Studies Programs aim at promoting the consciousness of WE that is derived from the knowing of the Great Goddess/Primordial Mother/Creatrix. All programs and activities are designed to awaken one’s innate power to self-teach (de-educate), self-heal, and self-transform. Reading/researching/writing/creating is our guide to enter S/HE Reality or the Way of the Great Goddess (Mago). By cultivating/sharpening/refining gynocentric intellectuality, we re-member oneself and the terrestrial eco-community to the Original Story of WE/HERE/NOW at the time of rapid changes brought by doomed patriarchy.
